Backward Class Welfare Department (BCWD) of Bankura District in West Bengal has taken a major step towards e-governance by computerizing its day-to-day activities with technical support from the NIC Bankura District Centre. Sh. N K Das, Sr. Technical Director of NIC West Bengal State Centre formally handed over the software to Sh. P K Mishra, District Magistrate Bankura in a function organised by the BCWD on 20th September. The computerization project would enable BCWD in timely Sanction of Post-Matric scholarship to students of SC, ST and OBC communities, as well as in detecting duplicate cases of applications, monitoring of fund utilization and reconciliation of bank statements etc.
