West Bengal: The West Bengal Chief Minister, Mr Jyoti Basu recently inaugurated NIC's Revenue Management System for the West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB).

In his inaugural speech, the Chief Minister said, "Computerization is essential in offices like banks, P&T, State Electricity Board etc. In State Electricity Board faster generation of bills and better realization can be achieved by computerization".

The revenue management system of the West Bengal State Electricity Board has been considerably improved by the installation of the computerized Revenue Management System developed by NIC.

Boosted by the improvement in the areas of energy and revenue monitoring, the WBSEB has entrusted the NIC West Bengal State Unit with the responsibility of implementing the System in 14 more of its divisions through an execution order of Rs 1.75 crore. NICNET will be used to interconnect these offices and the Corporate Office.
