Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) of UK Government has launched a free public procurement e-Course for businesses. "Winning the Contract", an on-line public procurement course is a free resource to help businesses learn about public procurement and how to bid for public sector contracts. It introduces businesses to the key procurement processes including the advantages and disadvantages of dealing with public bodies; different types of contracts; understanding approved supplier lists and framework agreements; searching for and find-ing public sector opportunities; and identifying the key stages in the tendering process. The e-Course is divided into six modules and presented in an interactive format. There is an optional audio track to aid learning. Resources such as case studies, a glossary, a 'Hints' and 'Tips' download and website links are also facilitated for the ease of the learners. This e-Course is available via the Business Link webpage, which is the Government's online resource for businesses. It targets people with responsibility for developing their business, such as business owners, managers and business develop-ment managers. It is aimed at growing businesses in all sectors.
