Some people claim that there is no better incentive for hard work than a few words of genuine appreciation. Today the Informatics team seems to be in perfect agreement with them as our spirits have soared sky high after receiving wonderful words of praise from different quarters on our new enhanced version. We humbly accept the kind compliments and re-iterate our commitment of striving hard to bring comprehensive coverage on issues related to ICT enabled governance for our readers. In this issue, the focus is on Integrated Citizen Service Kiosks which are becoming a popular phenomenon in the States/UTs to provide single window e-services to the citizens. Regional Editor Vivek Verma has done a remarkable job in putting this lead story together after studying the details of kiosks being run in different states. The technology update feature in this issue throws light on two important topics, one of which is 'Server Virtualization', an upcoming trend in enterprise IT and the other being 'IT Infrastructure Protection from malicious code'. The two stories featured in the E-Gov Products and Services section of this issue focus on the IntraGOV Portal Services of NIC and a Project Monitoring System developed by Delhi State Unit of NIC for the Chief Minister's Office. In the 'From the States/UTs section', we have covered the ICT initiatives in the State of Uttarakhand and the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. All our regular sections such as International eGov Update, In the News, Cyber Governance etc are there to serve your need to know what's happening in the ICT and e-Gov arena round us. Wishing you a great festive season ahead from the entire team of Informatics Happy Reading
