NIC’s Support during President’s Thiruvananthapuram visit From Asha Varma, DIO Thiruvananthapuram His Excellency the President of India Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam visited Trivandrum on 17th & 18th of November. NIC Thiruvananthapuram District Unit was entrusted with the job of providing Computer and Communication facilities at Raj Bhavan, Trivandrum, the place of stay of the President. For fast internet access ISDN link was set up. Similar facilities were provided for two of his Personal Officers at different locations during the visit. The NIC District Informatics Officer , Ms.Asha Varma and DIA, Ms.Neha Waikar were posted at the Raj Bhavan for duty during this period. The computer facilities were extensively used and appreciated by the President who quoted “Computer facilities provided by NIC were good”. NIC District Unit provided similar facilities for the Prime Minister and the Vice Presidential visits in the past.
