A three day “Workshop on e-Granthalaya and NewsNIC Software for Automation and Networking of Libraries” was conducted during 28-30th Oct, 2009 at Training Division, NIC, New Delhi.
The workshop was conducted for the benefits of the libraries from all parts of the country which are using/want to use e-Granthalaya software for automation and Networking. The e-Granthalaya workshop was attended by 31 number of library officers from various organizations and libraries The Workshop was organized by Library & Information Services Division of NIC. The Workshop was inaugurated by Dr B K Gairola, DG, NIC while keynote address was delivered by Prof (Smt.) S P Singh, Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi. Sh. M Moni, DDG, NIC delivered theme note and highlighted various issues related to the ICT applications in Libraries while Sh. P K Upadhyay, TD & OIC, NIC Library delivered the Introduction of the Agenda/software. The Workshop was Co-ordinated by Sh. Ram Kumar Matoria, TD and hands-on were managed by Sh. Edward Barwa, Scientist C, Sh. Shushant Panigrahi, and Sh. Ravi Ranjan, Scientist B. Participants were given exhaustive training and hands-on for use of various modules of the e-Granthalaya Software.
