In synchronization with the inauguration of the eCourts Project in New Delhi by the then President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, a function was held in the Gauhati High Court for launching the eCourts project on the 9th of July 2007. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Aftab H. Saikia, Hon'ble Mr. Justice Amitava Roy, Hon'ble Mr. Justice B.K. Sharma and Hon'ble Mr. Justice H. Baruah of Gauhati High Court graced the function. More than hundred Judicial Officers, distinguished guests, members of the bar and officials from NIC attended the gathering. Sh Deepak Goswami, Senior Technical Director & State Informatics Officer, NIC, Assam presented the Key Note address and also highlighted the salient features of the eCourts Project.
