CHANDIGARH, NOVEMBER: A state-level workshop on Information Technology was inaugurated by the Punjab Governor, Mr Surendra Nath on November 11, 1991.
The workshop was organized jointly by the Punjab State Government and the Punjab State Centre, NIC, to discuss a policy for computerization proposed by the State Government.
In his presidential address, the Governor emphasized the utility of computers, and urged decision makers to take to computers shedding any inhibition whatsoever. Computers is a quicker way of doing things, he said.
Delivering the keynote address, the Director General of NIC, Dr N Seshagiri appreciated the efforts of the State Government in evolving a policy for computerization in the State, and assured full support from NIC.
