The Country has witnessed many ICT Applications in the rural areas to address the issues of information availability, empowerment and sustainability. This phenomenon is common not only to India but also to many other developing nations in the Asia Pacific Region. To study and analyze these initiatives, the prestigious Stanford University has chosen NIC as a partner for a collaborative research project on “Study of Grass root level ICT initiatives in Rural Areas” and to formulate an optimal frame- work for future projects in this sector. The project from NIC will be co-ordinated by CRISP division, NIC HQ.
