Gujarat Government along with NIC met the target of going on line with Land Records data in all 225 talukas in the State by January 26, 2004. This was the culmination of years of efforts put in by both Revenue Department and NIC. More than 96 lakhs village forms of 56 lakhs land accounts spread over 18000 villages of the State are fed into the computer. NIC was instrumental in supporting the State Government in this massive process with software support and monitoring the data entry at district level along with the district administration and management of this huge database. State Monitoring Cell (SMC) of Revenue Department carried out the verification process and manages the project along with the officials of NIC State Centre, DIOs/DIAs and district administration. Principal Secretary (Revenue) Smt. Vilasini Ramachandran, I.A.S put on record that “The achievement is not a small one and would not have been possible without the cooperation and technical support of NIC Staff”.
