‘UDAY’, a system for computerization of the Regional Transport Office, Dehradun was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Transport Sh. Heera Singh Bisht. With this, the process of Vehicle Registration at Regional Transport Office, Dehradun and issuance of Permits at State Transport Authority is completely computerized. The software, also named as ‘VAHAN’ has been developed and implemented by NIC. Till now, the Modules which have been released for RTO Dehradun are Vehicle Registration, Fitness & Fees Collection. Very soon the already developed module of Tax collection of commercial vehicles would also be started. The inauguration was witnessed by Principal Secretary Transport Mr. N S Napalchayal, DDG NIC Dr. B.K. Gairola, SIO NIC Dr. Rakesh Goel, Additional Secretary Transport Rajeev Chandra Joshi alongwith other Transport and NIC officials from Dehradun and Delhi.
