Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Sh. Narendra Modi inaugurated the “Viswa Gram” project at TIMBI Gram Panchayat of UMARALA Taluka of BHAVNAGAR District on 18th January 2004. Power & Petro Chemical Minister Shri Saurabh Patel, Members of Parliament, all M.L.A.s of Bhavnagar District, District Officials, Sh. Rajnish Mahajan (SIO) and Sh. D.K.Jhala from NIC were present.
The Viswa Gram project module “e-Gram Panchayat Monitoring System” is for maintaining record of village information of all families’ data and issue of necessary certificates to citizens. This module has been designed & developed by National Informatics Centre. The Viswa Gram is based on survey form of each individual family of the village, which contains the detailed information of each member of family. This is used to provide many certificates such as Income, Caste, Domicile, Character etc. to citizens. Also, the database of property of each family is maintained to provide necessary certificate and to use in panchayat tax collection property wise. Birth, Death & BPL Beneficiaries data is also maintained to provide respective certificates. The Project has already been implemented in 32 villages of Bhavnagar District and during the function, Hon. Chief Minister distributed the hardware for another 10 village panchayats.
