As an endeavour towards generating awareness about the National Portal of India (india.gov.in), a mission mode Project under the National e-Governance Plan, workshops were recently held at Meghalaya, Delhi and Manipur. These workshops were organized by the concerned NIC state centres in collaboration with the State IT Departments. In Meghalaya, the workshop was presided over by Sh. Ranjan Chatterjee, Chief Secretary and in Manipur; the event was chaired by the Chief Secretary, Sh. Jarnail Singh. The workshop at Delhi was chaired by Sh. P.K Tripathi, the Secretary to the Chief Minister. DG NIC was also present at the event. All the three workshops were also addressed by the State IT Secretaries and had participants from various departments in the State Government. Senior members of the National Portal core team at NIC HQ also attended the three events and gave a demonstration of the content management system that has been developed to contribute content to the Portal.
